I am an experienced clinical social worker with a well rounded background which includes working with severely emotionally disturbed preschoolers, children on the autism spectrum, young adults and adolescents with illnesses - such as MS. I have done this work both privately and in schools, mental health clinics and hospitals. I attended graduate school for Social Work and have a LCSW-R certification which has enabled me to work privately with special needs children and young adults - some examples are children adjusting to divorce or adoption and children who are diagnosed with ADHD. I have also worked with young adults who have emotional issues or physical conditions which affect their well being. I have always loved working with children and would like to resume being a caregiver for a local family. I love this work because it provides an authentic connection to the family as well as the child. I Read more feel I am well suited to being a caregiver, particularly for special needs children. My training as a social worker is a huge plus. Also, I have a nurturing, fun, spontaneous personality and enjoy playing with children in a way that promotes each individual child encouragement for self-expression. I have two young adult children of whom I am immensely proud. I live with my husband in Hastings along with our little white dog whom I must admit I dote on excessively. I love nature, long walks ,hiking, reading and art projects. I am especially fond of sidewalk chalk!
