I'm a 37 year old mother with daughters ages 2 and 4. I also have well over 10 years experience as a babysitter and 3 years experience as an elementary school teacher and an English tutor. I love to play and have fun; make crafts, play games, sing songs, have dance parties and inspire creativity while also instilling empathy, respect and responsibility. I am an Attachment Parent, which basically means that I believe in child lead and child centered care giving and respect the individual thoughts and feelings of every child. I do not believe in time outs unless a dangerous behavior is being exhibited and needs to be stopped immediately for safety reasons, and that is only used in extreme circumstances for children at least 3 years old. The majority of the time I use creativity, play and distraction to motivate positive behaviors and to engage children in play.
