Howdy, y'all! I'm a transplanted Texan who lives and works in NYC as a public librarian. I have experience sitting for children of all ages, and excellent local (and national) references. I love kids, and routinely perform toddler story times for huge crowds, so I'm pretty unflappable. I am sweet, easygoing, and able to listen to "Let It Go" for hours on end without losing my sanity. The very first child I babysat for is now 22 years old, and she just sent me homemade cookies in the mail from Texas - so I hope that shows I am remembered fondly as a sitter! Because I work full-time during the day, I am mainly available in the evenings/on the weekends/occasional days off. I've worked as a public librarian for the past ten years, so I have experience dealing with children and teens of all ages. I routinely provide homework help Read more to the children who come into my library, so I'm happy to help yours in any way I can. (The exception is "the new math". My math skills are rudimentary at best, and resolutely old-fashioned!) My standard rate is $20 an hour for up to two children, but I'd likely be willing to go lower for a regular/local job.
