I just worked with a wonderful family (2 kids: aged 7 & 10) through Sittercity doing school pickups and full/part day sittings for the last school year (August 2019-March pre COVID). My background: I have helped take care of children for the majority of my life. My elder sister had my nephew when I was nine, and from then on, I was a hands-on part of his life and upbringing. From bathing and feeding, to taking him to karate and school, to meal preps, bedtimes, and tutoring. With my nephew alone, I have had a wealth of babysitting experience spanning over the years. I also babysit for several of my family friends whenever I can and sat for the 5-month old son of my co-worker three summer ago. For two years I have worked at the Fresh Air Fund, an organization dedicated to bringing inner-city NYC kids, upstate to explore Read more and enjoy life outside of the concrete world they are used to. I was both a camp counselor and instructor, taking care of 6 to 8 girls aged (11-13) in my cabin each day. From getting them up and ready for camp in the morning, to prepping for bed and lights out each night. We bonded during daily activities, made fun games to keep them entertained, and as a Drama instructor, I was responsible for 8-14 children per class for several classes a day, creating lesson-plans, games, and activities to get the kids involved and learning! I am First-Aid and CPR certified, I speak Spanish proficiently, and am knowledgeable and prepared to care for children of all ages. I love children, their wonder and capacity for learning is inspiring, and I would be happy to help care for your little ones!
