Hi there, my name is Lauren Minter. In my teenage years when I still lived in New Jersey I would always baby sit my father's good friend's two children growing up. One was a little boy with autism, and even though I had no experience working with special needs we pretty much hit it it off and it was almost instinctional for me on how to take care of him. The other child was a young girl. I had baby sat them for years and even the father realized I made a huge impact on his son's life, for the better. When I turned 18 I had a friend who had a couple month old baby. She would barely ever pay me and I would take care of her little son for hours and hours at a time. Clearly getting paid wasn't my goal but I just genuinely enjoyed taking Read more care of him. That went on for over a year until she moved away. I recently got laid off working at a rehab/nursing home doing activities here in Lockport. I feel as though it was way more then just an "activities assistant" job. I became very close to the residents there and I absolutely loved that job! As a matter of fact, all of these jobs I have mentioned did not feel like jobs to me at all because I just love helping people and I believe that is my purpose in life. I am a very caring, sweet, woman and believe that I will succeed at any job given to me. I have my own transportation, I promise to always be on time (if not early), I'm a great cook and can also do laundry and cleaning if need be. P.s.
