My first job with a family was at 18 years old (freshman in college) and I was hired to drive, tutor and cook for an eight year old boy with ADHD and trouble with reading. The family the child belonged to was blended (his and hers is ours) and they hired 4 caretakers, one for each child per year. I stayed with the family and after one year I became the soul after school tutor, driver, and caretaker for all four children also keeping them over night when their parents traveled. I stayed with the same family for eight years and did everything from cook, clean, organize and tutor to shop, run errands and even complete two graduation scrapbooks for the two oldest girls. Needless to say, I loved it. I have also worked for the past fourteen years as a dance instructor and private dance coach in the Birmingham, Read more AL area. Teaching is a passion and the nurture, care and education of young children and teenagers is a great joy in my life. Of course I am also available for private dance coaching hours if you have a child that is an aspiring dancer or is getting ready for an audition. I have just moved to New York City from Birmingham, AL and am looking for part-time or some-of-the-time family to work with. I currently work from home as a Social Media Manager for XOP Magazine, TheImagista.com and a brand new non-profit Culture Relay.
