I've been a babysitter for the last 10 years. I'm from a tight-knit neighborhood in Wisconsin with a lot of young families that asked me to look after their children until I graduated from high school. I love working with and playing with kids. In fact, when I was in high school, I decided to be a part of an afterschool drama program at one of my local elementary schools. For two years every spring I taught kids how to dance and sing in sweet little productions of Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland, Jr. Those two springs hold some of my favorite memories from those afternoon rehearsals. And after my first year of college, I realized just how much I missed working with children, so I applied to be a camp counselor back home for the summer. I got to teach the kids fishing, arts and crafts, Read more and take them on field trips to the pool, zoo, and museums all over the area. I even had CPR, Epipen, and Lifeguard certifications as part of my training as a camp counselor. It was a wonderful time (but summers in Wisconsin are brutal!). I miss the kids I met during my time as a babysitter, counselor, and afterschool director. But they're all grown up now, my age when I started to work with kids, and they're all back home in Wisconsin. I'm hoping to find new children to make just the same, strong memories that will last a lifetime with.
