I am a 22 year old college student, residing in Mineola, NY. I am majoring in sports medicine and psychology at Sacred Heart University, and am in the honors college. Upon entering the last year of my undergraduate career, I plan on spending my last two semesters applying to graduate school. I hope to eventually obtain a Masters Degree in Education, with a concentration in the sciences. At my university, I have been a Resident Assistant for the freshmen classes of 2020 and 2021, and have substantial training in conflict management, mediation, and emergency planning (specifically in regards to fire safety and maintenance issues). As I am a sports medicine major, I have up-to-date certifications in both CPR and first aid. I have been babysitting children in the community for the last 6 years. I have worked with children between the ages of 3 months old to twelve years old. Read more I enjoy getting to learn the child’s schedules and interests, and utilizing the time we spend together to cultivate a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment. I spent the last 9 months on an internship with The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. There, I worked in the attractions department, as well as the Child’s Activities department. I interacted with children of all ages and of many backgrounds. When language differences became a barrier (be it because the child was too young, or the child did not speak English), I found that positive body language, positive diction, and a warm, welcoming attitude is the key to creating a comfortable environment for the children. It is my utmost priority to ensure the safety of each child I work with, and it is my goal to develop happy and enriching experiences for them to remember.
