I am almost 20 years old and a sophomore at SUNY New Paltz -double majoring in BioMedical Sciences and Women Gender and Sexuality Studies. I have been a Nanny, caregiver and babysitter for 8 years now. When I was 12 years old I got my first job as a "Mommy's Helper" - helping a close family friend take care of her 4 children, 2 infants and 2 toddlers. As I grew older with them I took the role of "second mother" and permanent babysitter. I still watch the children today, attend family vacations to assist in the travels and consider them my siblings. I have always adored children and I display very distinct and passionate maternal instincts. Since I turned 16 I have been both a babysitter and a Nanny for 6 different families. When I was 18 my grandmother became ill and moved into our home. Since I was Read more going to school for Medicine, I had a little background and was able to assist her as both an at-home nurse and a nighttime caregiver. One year later, my mother had serious surgery, and for the next 6 months I bathed her, cooked for her, cleaned the house, helped her get dressed and slept next to her on the couch. Taking the role as a caregiver and nanny is an extremely honorable position, and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to create such wonderful relationships. I am certified in CPR and first aid attention for both adults, toddlers and infants - as each situation should be treated appropriately. I have also taken multiple courses on babysitting and caring for infants.
