I have been sort of a fill-in nanny around the Read more city for full time temporary gigs, as well as date night and emergency jobs for several families who keep me on their A-list and they have allowed me to use them as a reference. I am looking for something more stable and long term.  I am not the kind of sitter to just sit around, I am very active and social with both the children and parents. I am vocal about any issues. I speak up about the daily events and activities at the end of each day, I have even written out daily journal/logs for other families. As I said I am not a sitter who just hangs out and supervises the child, I am right up there on the playground going down the slide, teaching him how to use other playground equipment, running around, making sure he can see me as a friend not just the nanny/sitter, I read stories, teach them building with blocks (but make it fun), do arts and crafts (when their a little older though I suppose in this case). I even love going on walks too, so if its nice I can take him on long walks in the park, the playground, whatever he's up to.  Growing up I was heavily involved in sports. I grew up with several boys who might as well have been my brothers, so sports was a big thing in my life. I was involved in gymnastics, karate, took about 10 years of dance, and played on an all girls soccer team and then an all boys soccer team. I was also in band, choir, and school plays and was a safety patrol officer in the 4th and 5th grade. I have also been involved with different charities for children such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and St Jude. I have been a housekeeper for immobile senior citizens, and a great petsitter with great reviews.  Also - i have worked as a short-order so making basic meals for the kids is no problem!  Recently I won a few awards in writing and photography. A side hobby of mine is design and I love making little arts and crafts projects which would come in handy for your kids. I take childcare very seriously and can be a disciplinary but I am also very fun, outgoing and laid back. I am patient, respectful and focused with jobs like these. I take these jobs the same way i would any other job (company or self-employment) and with this job - the kids come first. I provide a safe and fun environment and a satisfactory job!
