Hello! My name is Alyssa. I reside in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and work in Chelsea. I work at a nonprofit called the Student Leadership Network as the Manager of Systems. I'm also a volunteer mentor at Catholic Big Sisters and Big Brothers. I'm a big sister to an 18 year old girl from the Bronx and we have been matched for over five years. I have my bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and my master's degree in Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling from Montclair State University. During undergraduate and graduate school, I babysat multiple families during the week and weekends. When I was in graduate school, I watched two young girls starting at ages 6 and 8. Additionally, when I worked in the Financial District, I used to pick up two boys at their respective schools in the Financial District a couple of days per week. I escorted them home and/or to other after-school activities and assisted with homework/studying. These kids are getting so big that they do not need me as much anymore so I'm looking for awesome families in the NYC area. I am comfortable working with all ages of children. I have babysat children as young as 1 to as old as 14. I used to work at a daycare in high school and spent a great deal of time working in the infant and toddler rooms. I am patient, responsible, reliant, and energetic. I am also a huge dog lover and dog sit on the weekends too.
