Hi, my name is Delaney and I am here to make your life a little easier and your children's lives more fulfilling! I am a 27 year old Fordham University alumni who has been looking after children of all ages for about 13 years, and have experience as a babysitter, mother's helper and nanny. Throughout my experience as a caregiver, I have had the opportunity to watch children grow up - starting my babysitting and nannying during a child's infancy and continuing to work for families as their children enter grade school and middle school. It is because of experiences like this that I am so passionate and excited about working with children in the hopes of positively affecting their lives. But before I go any further, allow me to tell you a little bit about myself! During that summer, I worked as their full-time nanny, which allowed me to develop not only a close bond with each child, but also their parents and friends that I still cherish and maintain today. From helping to teach the girls how to swim, to planning 3 of their birthday parties, seeing their school performances and building forts together (their favorite!), these girls have stitched a permanent place in my heart. This initial relationship with this family has led to many other long-term babysitting "jobs" with the girls' school friends, as my original Sittercity family has continued to recommend my caregiving services to others. Did I mention that this family has been wonderful to work for? Due to schedule changes, I'm unable to continue caring for these wonderful girls on a regular basis, however. Therefore I am ideally seeking a part-time, consistent caregiver position. Part of my child care philosophy is that as a caregiver and role model, I should always be engaging your children's hearts and minds - I am not one to turn on the TV for hours and call it "babysitting". I consider myself a very well-rounded individual: while I have a certificate degree from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Fashion Design, I also was the captain of my high school soccer team and club soccer teams and have won various writing awards. I am very passionate about life, and I feel as though this passion is reflected in my character and my enthusiasm in any job I undertake. Thank you!

We had the great fortune to come across Delaney's profile on sitter city while looking for a new nanny for our two daughters (then, ages 6 and 4) last year. Up until that point our daughters had had only two babysitters/nannies since they were born, and they were nervous and skeptical of a new person coming into their lives. That vanished within about five minutes of meeting Delaney, after which point she became their full time caregiver during the summer, and part-time babysitter during the school year. She instantly made the girls feel comfortable, engaged with them in creative and fun games, and they enjoyed their time so much with her that they couldn't wait for her to arrive every day. We don't allow our daughters to watch TV, so Delaney had the extra challenge to keep them busy and engaged through indoor play -- lots of great crafts, play acting, etc. -- as well as taking them outside on field trips and excursions around the city, play dates, and so forth. As parents, we have very much appreciated how responsible, reliable, creative, communicative, and caring Delaney has been with our daughters. The parents of several of our daughters' friends have also commented on how amazing she is with the girls, to the extent that many have also been reaching out to babysit for them as well. I can't recommend Delaney enough -- from both a child and parents' perspective, she has been an ideal nanny in all regards. - Sarah P.
