Hi, my name is, Emily! I am currently a student at The Fashion Institute of Technology; however, I am originally from Kentucky! Just a few months ago I made the big move and have loved every day since. I attend Hillsong Church and love exploring the city in my free time. I am from a large family and have been surrounded by children practically my entire life. I have held several babysitting jobs since the age of 14 for family members as well as several families in my community. (5 years work experience) I worked as a camp counselor. As well as, a lifeguard which required me to be CPR and FIRST AID CERTIFIED. I learned a lot from these experiences- patience, compassion, clear communication and more patience. These were key qualities I had to have to be a good example for the children was responsible for & to make Read more sure they had fun and safe time! I have had the honor working as a babysitter for several families in my community ( yes honor, because it was something I looked forward to each day and found true joy in) I have experience watching single children as well as several children at once. I have experience watching two children overnight-ages 2 and 5, to watching three children during standard workdays- ages 2,3,5. My responsibilities included entertaining, making meals, bedtime baths and putting to bed, picking up from school and cleaning house. Over the years I would like to say that I have acquired expert skills in areas such as playdough, dress up, dance parties, piggyback rides, and movie nights. During high school, I worked as a children's basketball camp counselor for five summers. This was something I looked forward to each year. It was so rewarding to teach the young players, not just skills they would use on the court but also acting as a role model for them off the court. Watching them grow as players were great but watching them shape into amazing individuals was the most rewarding part. (I worked primarily with the younger children, kindergarten through 6th grade) I recently had a job as a lifeguard at my local waterpark in Kentucky. I was stationed at the kiddie play area. With this job, one of the requirements was being CPR and FIRST AID CERTIFIED(for all ages, infants through adults) I learned a lot from these experiences- patience, compassion, clear communication and more patience. These were key traits I had to carry to be a good example for the children was responsible for to make sure they had fun and were safe!
