I am graduate of a music conservatory/Barnard College who now works full time in higher education. I've had 10+ years of professional babysitting and nannying for all ages in New York City. I have background in music and theater and love the arts in all forms, which I love bringing to the children I work with. I have an upbeat and loving personality which many kids love and I enjoy creating new engaging activities to best suit each child I work with. I am big on healthy communication with the parent(s)/guardians I work with in order to make sure that all routines stay the same for the children and they remain safe and happy. Every family is different and I respect and want to uphold each unique environment. I began volunteering to work with kids at through my church at age 11. By age 15 I was a Girl Scout "camp counselor in training" and babysitting on my own, with both CPR and Red Cross training. I have been living and working in New York for over ten years now and have been a nanny, mother's helper, "date-night" sitter, sitter for families visiting the city, you name it. I also volunteer as a tutor, craft-supervisor, and field-trip leader with children of all ages through New York Cares. I love working with kids of all ages as I find that they can often teach me just as much as I can teach them. Every child is different and I strive to find the activities and communication style that they enjoy the most and to create a loving environment that will keep them happy and safe. I have experience working with multiple children, as well as children with special needs. I have been both a nanny and an "as needed" babysitter throughout my past fifteen years in New York City. I can provide excellent references. I believe in good communication between myself, the children, and the parents/primary caregiver to ensure that everyone feels comfortable and happy.
