Hello, families! I am a 22 year old student who has just graduated with a B.A. in Art History and French. I am extremely warm with an outgoing personality, and absolutely love children. I have worked as a camp counselor for children aged 7-10 years old, and also as the main childcare provider for at the same camp previously for children under 5 years of age. In addition, I was employed by the New College Childcare Center, the Montessori style daycare at the university I attended. Due to the fact I was employed by a state certified childcare center, I was required by law to be CPR and First Aid certified, but I now need to be re-certified, which is of no issue. In addition, I have completed two internships as a teaching assistant in grade two and three of elementary schools. Needless to say, I am very comfortable working Read more with a variety of ages! I enjoy bringing the other skills I have to offer to children such as language proficiency in French, musical proficiency in playing the guitar, ukulele, and singing, and also working on art projects. I am a voracious reader and desire to share my love for literature and writing with children as well, as I believe it is best to begin young. Furthermore, a family that would permit me to speak to their child in French and potentially teach a little French would truly win my heart, as I am studying to hopefully become a professor of French in the distant future. Before I was employed by the New College Childcare Center, I interned there for a month. This experience gave me a unique perspective as I was able to watch the other teachers and childcare providers without directly being involved. I trained under them and was offered guidance and support. Upon starting there as an employee, I had completed a month of training in which I had taught the children certain Montessori activities and learned the in's and out's of nap-time and meal-time etiquette. I am available to begin working as soon as June 1, and would be more than open to long time employment!
