I have been babysitting newborn babies and up to 12 year olds for over 14 years. I have volunteered in our church nursery for many years. I assisted the teachers in the christian school. I also was a youth pastor in Arizona for about 30 youth. I have done a lot of reading about raising emotionally healthy children, I have watched Nanny 911 a lot, and have a lot of experience babysitting for the same families for many years. One family I babysat a 1 year old boy until he was 5 years old. Unfortunately, since I have moved away and been in Canada for seven years, i have lost contact with the family. I know it is very important to set boundaries and discipline bad behavior. For small children discipline consists of timeouts and quiet times and then a discussion after and a hug. I don't smoke, I always dress modestly, I don't scream at children, but do encourage time outs or quiet times. I love to sing songs, play games, and create activities, cook, and read stories.
