I have over ten years of experience working with children. I have watched children ages newborn to pre-teen. I am comfortable caring for up to five children at a time. I have helped at a daycare, babysat, and worked full-time as a nanny and co-parent. I am an active nanny and can sometimes be found running around the yard with the children or if inside, down on the floor with them. I prefer not to rely on television to occupy children and instead utilize activities such as play-doh, coloring, painting, arts and crafts, baking, going for walks, and playing outside. I love taking kids on outings and enjoy trips to the park, library, or local play space. I have experience teaching children many fundamentals such as shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. I also have experience teaching reading, writing, and math readiness. For the older kids I can assist with homework Read more and make sure that they get their chores done before Mom and Dad get home! Light housekeeping pertaining to the children is included in my rate. I am a great cook and have no problem preparing meals for the children. Family laundry/general housekeeping duties can be discussed. I attended Oneonta University in New York where I majored in Psychology. I took multiple child-related courses such as Child Development and Adolesecent Psychology. I have my driver's license, an insured vehicle, and a clean driving record. I am a non-smoker and I am pet-friendly. I have my child and infant CPR and First Aid certifications. I am a member of the INA (International Nanny Association) . I am able to provide stellar references.

Dawn worked as our nanny for 9 months from when my son was 6 months to 15 months old. I was concerned leaving my son to return to work because he was extremely attached. On the very first day, Dawn connected with him. She had such a soft manner that just seemed to soothe and calm him. By the end of the first week, Dawn helped get my son on a nap schedule and helped break the habit of being rocked to sleep. She continued his development by teaching him colors, counting, body parts, animals and animal sounds- all by the age of 15 months. For fun they danced, sang, painted, colored, played with jello and play dough, and spent as much time as possible outside, going for walks, playing ball, and exploring the surroundings. My son loves her and is extremely comforted by her. On a practical note, Dawn is extremely mature for her age and is able to give and take feedback well. She is a bit on the shy side at first, but opens up as the relationship grows. She was always on time and flexible if we needed her to be. We couldn’t find someone that we felt could replace Dawn, so we stopped trying. Any family would be lucky to have her care for their children.
