I currently intern at Head Start and Early Head Start where I assist with daily classroom routines in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. Duties include classroom preparation, organizing materials, assisting with meal service, and interacting with children during activities. I help monitor children during free time, field trips, and transition periods and properly model appropriate behavior for the children. Gained hands-on experience in developing program design, management, and administration. Prior working at Head Start, the majority of my experience with children is through my family. I have two younger sisters and younger cousin with an 11 year and 15 year gap. Throughout most of my adolescence and college career, I have been the main "babysitter" and role model for these 3 children. I have helped raised them from birth to present and have always implemented positive love and attention that expands their self-worth and confidence. I have taken multiple classes on child and family studies that include: Parent Education, Children in Families, Children in Crisis, Child Development, and Education Law Requirements (which allowed me to become a Mandated Reporter).
