During our hour together, Ran struck me as uncommonly observant/aware, both of the children's personalities and their actions. It struck me that she had the same reaction that I imagine most mothers' do when they first let their child (in this case my three-year-old) speed up the block on a scooter: a gasp and a hand over her heart, which shows that she is caring, and not for show. I reassured her that he was likely to stop before the curb. She is a winning combination of intelligent and warm. Too bad our schedules aren't quite right, otherwise she would be my first choice!
