Meet Annie

I started babysitting when I was 14 years old after taking a Red Cross Certification class, and I have been caring for kids of all ages ever since. From neighbors to friends of friends, hardly a weekend went by when I wasn't babysitting. When I entered high school and had less time to sit every week, I found that my love of child care extended to the service work I did abroad. From being a counselor at a summer camp in Paris, to assisting in the rehabilitation of orphaned or abandoned children in Bucharest, I used my child care experience to inform and improve my global service work. Since graduating from Oberlin College with Honors in Psychology, I have been pursuing my dream of being an actor. However, child care continues to be my primary source of income and a consistent source of joy. There are several families in the Read more city for whom I babysit regularly, and then I also work occasional hours in the infant nursery at The Motherhood Center in Manhattan. I love working with children of all ages (infants to teens) and aspire to be a fun, creative, and responsible role model for them. My experience as an actor also helps me to be creative and come up with new activities that meet any child's needs. Being a performer and dancer also means that I have a lot of energy and am prepared for any amount of physical activity, from racing around the park to rocking infants to sleep. Over the years, I've gotten to know so many incredible kids from so many wonderful families. I hope yours will be one of them!
