Date night, social event, or just some me-time ... every parent needs a break some times, and I would love to look after your little (or big) ones while you are out and about. I adore children and have been babysitting, nannying and counselling kids of all ages for the past 10+ years, so you can trust that yours are in good hands. A bit about myself: I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Columbia University as well as a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from University College London. For the past two years, I have worked as a therapist at a mental health clinic in London for children and adolescents. Before then, I have worked with children of all ages in various settings, ranging from individual tutoring to elementary school classroom support, art teacher, camp counselor, pediatric support worker and nanny. I am currently working as a researcher Read more at Columbia Medical Center (9am to 5pm), so I am available on an occasional/one-off basis. In my work with children, I focus on developing communication skills and emotional intelligence. Through interactive play, role modelling, open dialogue and creative projects, I encourage children to express themselves effectively and guide them through their most formative years. I draw from many professional and academic resources as well as a decade of experience, and can offer you and your family a calm and nurturing environment that fosters your children's unique potential. My approach to child development is based on patience and understanding, as well as on setting firm but fair, understandable boundaries. I value education very highly and therefore always emphasize learning activities - I much prefer a good book, a fun art project or a jamming session to hours wasted in front of the TV or computer. As a nature lover, I also appreciate outdoor activities and always make an effort to plan fun outings. I pride myself on reliability, politeness, helpfulness and good manners. I approach life with a can-do attitude, and always believe in the good in people. I like things neat and tidy - and I love to cook, particularly wholesome plant-based meals. I am fluent in German (my native language) and English, with bits of French and Spanish still floating around somewhere in my memory.
