My name is Irene Silbert, I am a retired marketing executive (who worked and travelled extensively while my kids were young), a mother of two grown chldren (26 and 22) who are graduates of the Bedford Central School District. I love kids and know what it takes to help build chidren academically, socially and emotionally. I am talented at helping elementary school children with their homework and special products. I am extremely creative, athletic, loves arts and crafts, table tennis, kayaking, cooking and baking. My daughter, 26, is an elementary school teacher at The Stanwich School in Greenwich, CT. My son, 21, is a junior, physics major, at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Currently, I volunteer weekly at  Pegasus which is a therapeutic horseback riding program for challenged children and adults. I am also active at the Westchester Table Tennis Center in Pleasantville NY where I play and am Read more a good friend to the children and teens who play/train at the Center. Last year, I was a nanny for three boys: 3, 7 and 9, who, with their parents, have become like family.  Most recently, I have signed on to host a Global Cardboard Challenge Play Day at the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westhester on Friday, October 4, from 3:30 - 6:30pm. Other than that, I am available Monday - Friday as needed. I am a morning person who misses the routine of getting kids ready for school and then preparing for their return later that afternoon. -  never, ever thought I would say that  :-) I am looking for a family who needs "Aunt irene," a young, "grandmother" type, to help shoulder some of your parental responsibilities. I can communicate in Spanish and read Hebrew. I have a dog (had 3 at one time), love nature and the outdoors, love arts n crafts and loves to have children in my daily lives.
