I have tons of experience with children. I started babysitting when I was 14 and now the majority of my jobs involve working with children. My experience includes being a consumer directed personal assistant for 2 years where I provided support for a pre-verbal autistic teenager by encouraging him to participate in daily living activities such as completing puzzles, learning to use a calculator, laundry, meal preparation, utilizing his IPad for communication, and various physical activities. I also substitute as a teaching assistant/teacher for grades K-12. Last summer I was a TA for a school summer program for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Based on my experiences I am comfortable and able to work with all ages of children as well as children with special needs. I am currently in graduate school obtaining my masters in Occupational Therapy. I hope to work in a pediatric setting one day after Read more becoming a licensed OT!
