My name is Siobhan. I love I am writing a letter of interest in regards to the position. I have completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Bridgeport. Even though my initial background is in Psychology and my career background being in non-profit management, due to budgetary reasons I was able to teach second grade at an extended day program located in Stamford, CT. While working with my second grade students, I took the time to recognize their various differences and organized lesson plans that accommodated their dynamic learning styles. Being an extended day teacher also opened my eyes in the needs of our youth especially in low-income communities. Even though I enjoyed myself as an administrator of the Read more agency, I enjoyed the hands on approach in engaging academically with youth of tomorrow. My strong rapport with students, parents and coworkers not only benefitted my class but the school at large. As I prepare to become the best educator I can be, I am in the process of becoming a certified teacher; I have begun the process to find achieve certification by preparing for New York State Certified Teaching Exams. Siobhan, was recently our babysitter for my three boys. It was a pleasure to have her my husband and I felt confident with leaving our boys in her care. She was very professional and attentive to my needs and the needs of my children. She listened carefully when we discussed safety precautions she asked questions and was very easy to talk to . Our oldest is 8 years old (a very vocal 8 year old I might add.) And he had nothing but wonderful things to say such as "She was very nice and good we had a fun time together!" She stood as long as we needed and didn't complain when we took a little longer than expected. When we returned home she was holding our youngest, as he had just fell asleep in her arms. As a mother of three it is very easy to acknowledge such a genuine caring and lovely person. I feel I have a keen sense and I am sensitive to the examples she displayed. Such as when our youngest had just fell asleep as we returned home we found him in her arms sleeping peacefully. I was very pleased with her example of quality care, I feel it was nice as her maternal extinct was not to wake him, but to hold him for a little rather than worry about putting him down to bed right away. She is extremely respectful and had a nice sense of etiquette, Which was very appreciated! We cant wait to have her again she was "Wonderful!"
