As a sophomore at American University, I am seeking part-time work, and would ideally work as a babysitter! I have over six years of experience working with children, from infants to age 9, and am Red Cross certified as a babysitter. I also have four years experience as a school tutor for elementary school students, so I am willingly able to help with homework and academics! I have always enjoyed being around infants and children and am excited at the prospect of continuing child care in college. In the summers of 2016 and 2017, I was an intern for the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence for a graduate program equipping elementary school teachers with the tools to integrate emotional and social learning into their classrooms. Having observed and participated in these programs, I have bolstered my understanding of emotional learning for children and have gained meaningful skills in listening to Read more and communicating with kids so that they feel heard, empowered, and motivated.
