We needed a sitter to fill in for us. We called Christen and confirmed a date and time for her to start the job. She was going away for a week or so and could not start the sitting job right away which was fine. My husband met with her before she left for her vacation to confirm the details of the job, view our apt etc. She seemed excited to start and overly assured us she was going to start on the agreed upon date and time. A few days before she was supposed to start we texted her (we sent her a text on Sunday and the start date was Tuesday) to confirm the details that we initially agreed upon (the pick up time, start time, pick up location to pick up our daughter from camp, etc). She claimed she sent me a text to confirm the start time (a text I never received), the start time she sent to us was not what was discussed and agreed upon. My husband texted her back to confirm the pickup time, days of week that she would be working, etc and she sent a text back claiming that was not the agreed upon start time and she will have to decline the job offer and have a great summer. My husband and I were in shock. She could have called us to discuss the hours we could have changed it or made it more (the hours she sent was not the hours we discussed and she knew that). My husband called her twice to discuss this via phone instead of a text message and she didn't pick up. It's so sad to have to deal with irresponsible and unreliable people who only care of themselves. I hope Christen gets it together and does not do this to any other potential employers.
