My interests include babysitting for children of all ages, whether that is a child with special needs, or a child who does not have special needs. I have 2 years of experience babysitting a child who has cerebral palsy while I was attending high school, as well as babysitting a 2 year old. I was a tutor for 1 year at an elementary school as well. I have also worked as a one-on-one attendant with a teenager who has autism from this past November to May. Lastly, since April I have been working at a camp with special needs children and the age ranges from 5 years old to 22 years old. Some of the tasks I have completed include supervising and directing students to complete or participate in activities, such as arts and crafts with the children, as well as playing outside and creating fun activities. I have experience Read more with toileting duties and preparing meals as well. I have the ability to use a wheelchair lift safely with children who are in wheelchairs, and also using the proper techniques to transport the children. Furthermore, I have experience using positive reinforcement and praise, as well as being able to modify lesson and activities for different levels of abilities. I have graduated from Ashland University in May of 2013 with a degree in Child and Family Studies and am currently in graduate school for School Counseling. I have my certifications in CPR and First Aid, and also a certification in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
