As a City Year AmeriCorps member, I spent 2 years mentoring 7th and 8th grade students. I co-taught ELA, science, and social studies classrooms. After school, I ran a tutoring and enrichment program that catered to 50+ middle school students. I have experience working with kids with mild to severe behavioral issues using a restorative justice approach, as well as goal setting strategies. I also babysit for family friends, including children ages 6 months to 4 years of age. My time with children has lead me to pursue a career in social work at Case Western Reserve University. The goal is to one day work in some capacity with children and mental health. During my studies, I'd like to babysit and nanny in order to experience the joy and laughter associated with working with children.
