For over eight years, I cared for a child with autism and ADHD, through an organization called Minute Man Arc for Human Services. For this position, I was required to become CPR and First Aid certified. I was, also, trained to work through certain behavioral issues and seizures. I have two other, separate experiences working with children with autism in a setting that was more focused on "nannying", rather than providing respite and educational assistance. I have varied other childcare experiences, as well, including assistant teaching within public schools and museums, with children of different ages and walks of life -- children as young as 3 months old to 18 years old, academic tutoring, specializing in literacy coaching and reading comprehension.
