A long-term babysitter from my days in Louisiana, I moved to the Boston area Memorial Day 2010 to attend graduate school at Harvard.  I had such wonderful clients in Louisiana - many that I still keep in touch with - and formed similar bonds in the Greater Boston area. I moved once again in 2013 to upstate New York to pursue a different degree (master's at Harvard, PhD here), and needed to focus on coursework and exams. That said, I miss being around children and experiencing the world through their eyes - not to mention the completely different skills and knowledge needed to keep up with the Pre-K - 12 set! :) I recently moved to the Columbus area and am studying for exams, so I have a flexible schedule. My sitting experience ranges from children as young as 12 days and as old as 15 years. Because I am Read more course complete, my hours are extremely flexible and I am often available last minute, during the day, and of course on weekends. I have a reliable Ford Explorer and have plenty of experience driving to and from soccer practice, violin lessons, schools, and extracurriculars. I spend much of my time researching, writing, helping with speaker series, applying for grants, writing proposals and all the myriad tasks that come with pursuing a PhD in History. I love all of that work, but I have other loves as well. Boston will always hold a place in my heart, and I travel back there on occasion to visit old friends and clients, as well as to conduct research. My English Bulldog Yoda is very friendly and loves meeting new people on walks around town. I have had less time for things like the Chi Omega Alumnae Association and my past work with Partakers, Inc. this past year but hope to rekindle some of these bonds soon. And though I read hundreds of pages of week for work, I not-so-secretly love reading compelling fiction most of all. Other hobbies including cooking and drop-in dance classes. As I mentioned earlier, I have babysat for nearly 15 years so my experiences have run the gamut - once a week after-school pick-ups, three and four children at once, regularly scheduled date nights, and the occasional sleepover. I find different ages (and personalities) prefer different activities, but I am always a fan of reading or being read to, art projects, cooking/baking projects (with clean-up after!), and trips to the park. Please don't hesitate to ask any specific questions I have not addressed here.

Rachel saved our lives when our nanny got sick unexpectedly. She is helpful, charming, and reliable and our 4 month old adores her. She’s the best babysitter you can find!

Rachel is cheerful and intelligent - she is a great conversationalist with both the children and the parents as well. She is warm and caring with young children, and always punctual and responsible in her work. We enjoyed meeting Rachel and would recommend her highly.

Rachel took care of our two kids (ages 1 and 3) several times while we were looking for a permanent nanny. She was engaging, kind, and creative with the kids, and also looked out for ways she could help the household to run smoothly. Rachel is a super babysitter and a lovely person.

Rachel was wonderful with our baby girl. She is confident and capable, as well as warm and caring. We initially hired her only for one night but then asked her if she could work again a second night and she accommodated us. I would definitely recommend her.
