Hi! My name is Emily, and I am a former elementary school teaching looking for a position as a nanny/sitter for a family in the Dayton area. I absolutely love working with kids, and have a great deal of experience beginning with my first babysitting job when I was just twelve years old. I babysat and nannied part time throughout my junior high and high school years. While attending college, I spent a great deal of time with children as well, though it was mostly in a classroom setting since I was pursuing my degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I graduated with my degree and received my teaching license in 2009. Over the last six years, I have taught in a number of different classroom settings. I taught English in Japan to nursery school and elementary school children for a year. Upon my return to the States, I Read more found a position teaching science to preschool and elementary school children through a non-profit company called Science Fun for Everyone. In that position, I had the joy of making learning incredibly fun, as it was an experiment based program that allowed the kids to do a lot of wonderful hands-on projects. Over the last two years, I have gained more experience with much younger children through my work in the childcare field. I spent a little over a year in a daycare facility working first as a teacher, and then as the Assistant Director. I spent time managing employees and working with families in addition to the joy of spending time in the classrooms with children ages six weeks to twelve years. In August of last year, I had the joy of welcoming my sweet boy into this world. Though I loved my position at work, I decided I wanted to find a way to stay home with my little one. To make that happen, I re-entered the world of nannying and babysitting, and have loved every moment of it! I am a very loving, patient, fun, caring, and energetic young woman. I love to facilitate learning experiences through crafts, experiments, and outings. I really enjoy the outdoors and have a great deal of fun sharing that love with children. I am responsible and organized. I have a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also am up to date in my CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Communicable Disease Prevention certifications. Thank you for checking out my profile, and for considering me to watch your children!
