Hi there! My child care experience goes back as far as I can remember. My mom started a home day care when I was three and every day she taught me how to be a good caregiver. She is proof that a little patience and a lot of love are the keys to unlocking every child's potential. I am passionate about child care, it's not just a way for me to make money, it's a way for me to invest in the future and pursue something I'm passioante about. I began babysitting when I was still a kid myself. In high school I led our chapter of the Future Educator's Association as president for two years while shadowing teachers at a local elementary school, focusing primarily on second and third graders and spending a lot of time helping the students who were struggling. After high school I spent six months Read more working part time at a day care center working with infants and toddlers. I decided to start my own home day care as a way to spend more time with my son and get more experience than I was at the center. Bayside Child Care has grown significantly since it started and these days my mom and I co-run it. She leads during the day and I help as needed depending on the number and age of kids on a day-to-day basis. I am pursuing a degree in early childhood education and hope to open my own day care center someday. I want to make it clear that I am pursuing child care as a career, not as a way to make a little extra cash or just to keep myself busy in the summer. I like to encourage lots of reading and music through age-appropriate activities. I think the most important thing for a child to thrive is for them to experience the world, whether it's a backyard adventure or a trip to the local museum/library. I am CPR and first aid certified and pride myself on doing everything I can to make you confident that your child is safe and happy in my care. Even though Bayside Child Care is thriving, I have decided to branch out (or go back to my roots depending on how you look at it) and offer "Date night" services. I am available weekdays from 6:00PM until 12:00AM and weekends from 10:00AM until 12:00AM. If you need hours that I currently don't cover, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to work with you.
