Hi, I'm a mom of seven... six boys, one girl. I know... YIKES!!  My eldest is 22, my youngest is 15. I've raised all seven, including a set of triplets right in the middle (they are now 19 and in college)! My daughter just returned from studying abroad in Singapore, after graduating with honors from a private girls' school here in NE Ohio. I'm a college graduate, and also hold an M.S. in Journalism. I was married to a Harvard Medical School-trained surgeon for 18 years. Through those years, I absorbed A LOT of medical knowledge and intuition. I've never once been incorrect in diagnosing my kids' illnesses or otherwise. Part of it is a mom's intuition, and a big part of it is what I've learned from being married to a physician. Part of it is also knowing when to call for help. I feel very confident in my Read more ability to provide the best care for another mom's/dad's children. I think that NOTHING can substitute for being a mother, someone who has felt all the worries, all the joy, ALL that is involved in being responsible completely for those precious beings. However, some clinical know-how helps... and that deep-down love that a mother feels for every child -- not just her own, but for all children. I began babysitting when I was 16 years old. I am still in close contact with those two "kids" -- they are now both married (I went to their weddings), and they each have children of their own. It makes me smile to talk with them... to see and hear how they are passing on some of the little experiences and traditions which I shared with them when I was 'the babysitter." My kids are all "flying the coop." Ahhhh!! I want to spend time with younger ones again... I'd love to pass on what I've learned from raising my own amazing kids. I would feel great if I could be the person with whom another parent could entrust his/her/their own children, without a second thought. And, to be honest, I need to get out of my house, and do what I love! I can supply you with as many references as you'd like. Please, just ask me for them.
