Hi My name is Teresa Lane. I am the oldest of 7 children and mother of a boy and girl, both in their 30's now with families of their own. I have babysat for what seems like forever. Before I decided to be a stay at home mom I had worked in a hospital and a couple of nursing homes as well as doing home care for the elderly or disabled. While raising my children I decided to take on babysitting children in my home so that other mom's could feel good about the environment and care their children were receiving while they were away from them. It was a great experience for everyone involved. The children were happy when their parents picked them up and of course the parents were happy about that. Those years were the best years of my life. When my children became old enough to Read more be involved in other activities outside the home I decided to devote my time solely to them. However time goes so quickly and I finally found myself an empty nester. The quiet and boredom was so foreign to me not to mention kinda lonely. So I once again began babysitting. Only now I go to the children's homes instead of them coming to mine. And I am loving it. The families I have worked for have become almost like family. My character and nature is to be kind, helpful, caring and empathetic. Being optimistic is also a big thing to me. No matter what might happen I try to use understanding and tenderness to those under my care. I've always lived in such a way that I do not put others down and instead help them find the good in themselves and expand on that. I would like to include that I have taken some courses at COTC in Early Childhood Development Classes as well as resurched and read many books and articles on caring for children. As well as information on children with learning challenges and how to address them. I am always looking for ways of Educating myself in the area of communication, teaching and trying to understand all phases of childhood growth, mentally and emotionally as well as physical health. I am presently caring for three fun, smart, happy and loving children a couple days a week. I do have a few days I am still available, depending on need.
