I am a retired married grandmother. I have three grown children and one granddaughter who all live out of state. I had hoped after retiring I could find some babysitting jobs with families that are looking for supplemental babysitting people for odd hours, weekends, etc. I know that young families have a great need for backup childcare and I think I could fill a very important need for a family. My desire had been to do occasional or last-minute type positions. Kids off school, date nights, occasional night out, etc. One person I have worked with is a mom in the medical field. She has to occasionally travel and I will stay overnight with her son to make sure he is looked after in her absence. This arrangement has worked great for her and for me. I have been working with her since January, 2014. Her son is in high Read more school now so the need for my services has shifted. I had been watching a 9 year old for the last 14 months. Her mother is in the medical field and leaves at 6:30 am. I would get the daughter up and off to school several times a week. Also picked her up from school for some after school activities. That job has recently ended. I also drive an 11 year old to school in Bay Village two mornings a week. I have been driving her for the last 18 months. The driving jobs have been really good for me and I have enjoyed doing that very much. I have absolutely no problem with picking up or dropping off children, helping around the house, or any needs that a family might have. I have taken kids to doctor appointments, pets to the vets, dropped dogs off at doggy day care, any odd job that might need to be done. Pets are definitely not an issue for me. Because I am retired, my schedule is very flexible and I am extremely reliable. I think my age, schedule, availability and patience would be a welcome asset to any family. I think once any family meets me, they will be glad we found each other. I hope to hear from you. Sandy
