I moved to Oak Harbor, Ohio about 15 months ago to join my husband after getting married. I have worked from my home for 30 years running a small business and am looking to slow things down a bit. What brings me to this site is my desire to be helpful to families in a meaningful way. Having raised two children as a single mom. I remember how finding quality childcare was way harder than any workforce job I'd ever done. There is nothing worse than not knowing for sure that your kids are in good hands. I started babysitting at age 12 and worked for several years in my church nursery, mostly with infants through age five years, but I am comfortable working with children of all ages. I so miss having my kids in my house and the joys that only come from engaging with, and learning from, children. As Whitney Houston said in her famous song... "I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way." So basically, I am a responsible, reliable mom whose full of love and energy and has a heart to support families. I love the kids of all ages as each stage of life offers its own delights, challenges, and opportunities. Professionally, I have 30+ years as a performance consultant, which means I help people get better at what they do. Through that world I have had the opportunity to make a differences in the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds. The most important aspect of ANY work I do is that I have an opportunity to make a difference. You're not going to find me calling off because I had too much to drink last night (or because my own kids are sick), forgetting about your kids while I play with social media, overreacting to the natural events that are a part of caring for someone else's kids, or complaining because childcare actually requires, well, work. I'm not inclined to do your deep cleaning, but if I can help with picking up, cooking, doing the dishes or laundry, I'll do so with a smile. I have a reliable car and good driving record.
