Hi! My name is Lauren. I am twenty-one years old and am currently attending Miami University with a microbiology/zoology double major and premedical studies with a molecular biology and neuroscience minors. I graduated from Tallmadge High School in May 2013 with honors. I have a lot of experience with children. The summer of 2013, I nannied a 2 year old five days a week for about 8 hours each day. During my senior year of high school, I babysat a 7 year old for a few hours after school. I drove both children around and cooked both meals. I would be happy to provide these parents' numbers if you are interested in hiring me. In the summers of 2014 and 2015, I worked in the Tallmadge Recreation Center with kids. I worked in the child care area of the rec, in addition to being an after-care counselor for the camp Read more program. In addition to babysitting, I have spent a great deal of time volunteering with children. At Miami Univeristy, I have participated in a program that is called Adopt A School. In this program, I tutor forth and fifth graders for an hour a week in math and reading. I also have worked in the nursery of my parish religious education. I would watch children between the ages of three months to four years. At this same church, I was a parish religious education teacher for a class of twelve first graders. I was responsible for coming up with lesson plans and teaching them for an hour. During my senior year of high school, I participated in two tutoring programs: Dunbar Reads (helping first graders with their reading) and Project MORE (tutoring and mentoring a fifth grader with his reading). In addition to this tutoring, my family owns a karate school. For six years, I have been instructing the children's class. I have taught children as young as four. I have also taught a parish religious education class of third graders. Having both dogs and cats at home, I feel comfortable with pets. Additionally, I feel extremely comfortable providing nutritious and delicious meals to the children that I babysit. I am CPR certified for both children and adults, along with VIRTUS trained.
