At the age of 8 years old my mom and step-father divorced. This left my mom to pick up the financial slack. As the oldest of three children, i was tasted with cooking, cleaning, and caring for my siblings. At the time my little brother was 4 years old. He was born autistic so i had to care for him as tho he were still within his first year. I changed his diapers, cleaned him up, taught him how to use the toilet and how to eat his food. My little sister was 7 at this time and since her and I are 13 months apart, it was like having a slightly larger toddler run around. I never got any help in taking care of my little brother from my little sister. I continued to take care of my younger siblings until my little brother turned 17 and our mother Read more died. I currently live in the house my mother left behind and my siblings live on their own or with my grandmother. I am an experienced care-taker of children and the elderly. I took care of my grandfather's health until he died, including catheterizing, bathing, feeding, and administering medication. I took care of my mother until she died, including bathing, feeding, and administering medication. Caring for others has been a part of my daily life since I was 8 years old.
