Hi, my name is Ryan Cass and am going to be a junior at the University of Oklahoma in the fall. I previously played college soccer at Colorado State University Pueblo until transferring back home to Oklahoma this year. I have worked at a summer camp with kids from the age of 3-14 for the past 7 years. I worked at a camp called Camp Shalom and everyday activities included swimming, playing outside games like kickball, dodgeball, and soccer, going on filed trips to water parks or movie theaters, and basically anything fun that you can think of. I was mainly placed with the first or second grade groups because the kids had just gotten to the big kid camp from the kindergarten camp so they had a lot of energy and excitement everyday and I was able to channel that energy into activities better than some of the other Read more counselors. Every summer before the camp started every counselor is required to go to training sessions over the course of three days that basically just reiterates the importance of child safety while having fun and brainstorming about different activities or games we can play to ensure the kids have the best time possible. I have had my CPR license since I started working at the camp 7 years ago because it is a requirement and I also have a food handlers permit. I have also had experience working with kids at various soccer camps throughout the years because soccer is a passion of mine and teaching kids about the game was always exciting for me so I took any opportunity I could get to be in a position to enrich kid's lives with soccer. The only reason I am not working at the summer camp in Tulsa this summer is because I am moving into a new house in Norman on June 1st so I decided that I would try to find a babysitting job in the area so I could work in a similar field to what I've been doing for the past 7 years.
