A symbol of hope with a potential for greatness, children bring an instantaneous joy into this world. Yes, they cry; when the unpleasant aroma of their contaminated diapers fills the air, or when they are cranky, tired and hungry. Yes, they demand constant attention, but their contagious laughter and boundless, yet simple exuberance enhances an indescribable sense of life. My love for children has derived from many sources, but this love was merely a seed. This seed has exponentially grown as I have been given numerous opportunities to babysit. For an entire day, I play the role of chef, entertainer, housekeeper, comforter and bedtime enforcer. Despite all of the dirty diapers and cries of hunger, children are prized possessions that hold energy and wisdom that cannot be matched. Babysitting represents one of my most meaningful commitments in the sense that it embodies everything that I love. I receive the chance to teach them good morals and values by reading to them and playing with them. I am also privileged with the ability to utilize my leadership skills and become their role model. Holistically, children have inspired me to become a pediatrician and pursue my passion for medicine while being able to build relationships with them as I nurture them and watch them grow.
