Growing up, I helped raise my three younger siblings into adulthood. By the age of eight, my youngest brother was born premature. My parents had their hands full with full time jobs and four kids. I decided when my mom brought home my brother, I would be the best big sister I could possibly be. I taught them their alphabets, how to read, skate, ride their bikes, look both ways before crossing the street, the importance of family, and much more. When I got my license, we would spend time as a family once a week. We would go to parks, ice skate, play basketball, and sometimes they would invite a few of their friends. Inviting their friends helped them socialize while bonding with family.
