I used to work as a substitute teacher's assistant. Teaching students and watching them grow has been a joy in my life. Now I currently take care of a family member with Dementia. The hours are minimal and flexible and I am looking for a part time job to supplement that. However, I am very flexible and can start as soon as I am needed. For the past 5 months, I have been volunteering in Belize. I spent a lot of time teaching American Sign Language to deaf children and their families so that they can communicate. I have learned a lot from this experience and hope to use that to benefit others. Working in schools I've gained valuable training and experience. Not only do I have experience in teaching school curriculum, but I also spend time with the students in a social setting, like recess and lunch. Playing and Read more exercise(being outdoors when possible) is very important for children, and it's something that I incorporate with the children I nanny. After getting some energy out, then it is the perfect time for us to work on something constructive; such as, homework, reading, arts and crafts, puzzles, music, etc... I have had an extensive background check two years ago that enabled me to work in public schools. I've also taken the required courses on such subjects as bloodborne pathogens, bullying, child abuse, etc... Communication with the parents is very important to me. I believe that children need unity between those in charge regarding rules. Because of that, I will follow your parenting methods and teaching methods. In addition, starting with a new nanny can be a hard transition and I like to make it as easy and as fun as possible. I love playing with the kids, singing, dancing, arts and crafts. Doing fun activities together has been a great way to get to know each other better and ease the transition process. Thank you for reading this and I hope you will consider me and ask me any questions that you may have.
