I am an experienced nanny/child care provider continuing to work on my early childhood development degree. I was raised by a single mother who was a teacher and is now a vice principal of a middle school. While the value of education was instilled in me at a young age, it was not until high school that I fell in love with teaching itself. I look back at the memories I made working with the preschoolers in my high school's Lil Viks Preschool program with such pride. I enjoy working with all age groups, but if I had to pick infants and toddlers would be my favorite. I had my first child care job at CODA, a drug and alcohol rehab center as their child care specialist. Working at CODA gave me invaluable experience caring for all types and ages of children. Being the only child caretaker at the facility, Read more I quickly mastered multitasking and meeting the needs of a newborn and preteen all at once. I then applied those skills to my next job working in a certified in-home preschool where I underwent a background check and finger printing. After getting married a few years ago I made the change to nanny where I am able to build more close knit and longer relationships with the children I work with. Organization and routines are important to me, though I understand the importance of flexibility and being able to roll with the punches when working with children. I am an active person and enjoy planning small in-home activities as well as day long outings. Coming from a home where education was so important, I like to incorporate learning as much as possible. I feel it is very important for children to feel safe and empowered, and hope that I can play a part in creating that environment for the children in my care. I am currently pregnant with my first little one due in July 2016. I am planning on starting to work again in September and searching for the perfect family. I would love to nanny for another family that has a newborn close in age to my son but am open to any family that is comfortable with me bringing my baby to work with me on a daily basis. I love animals. I have a dog, cat and fish at home that are part of our family and don't mind helping to care for yours as well!
