My name is Karen and I am a recent graduate with my BA in French with a minor in Spanish from Oregon State University. I am a world traveler and have spent the last 10 years living in Canada, France and the USA. I have a passion for foreign languages and cultures and a passion for working with children and youth. My dream is to work internationally within the development of sustainable education field, helping communities find the tools needed to create a sustainable form of education for their local communities for years to come. I have over 6 years experience in a variety of childcare settings from being a one-on-one support worker, to assistant teacher, to nanny, to running after school enrichment classes and programs. I am a creative, patient, dedicated, open-minded, and driven person with a great sense of humor and a love for arts, crafts, the outdoors, Read more travel, and food! I seek to provide children and their families with a sense of safety, openness, fun, and love. My goal of caring for children is to provide them with a place where they can learn and grow as individuals in a nurturing environment. I hope this enables them to have the sense of their importance as a valued part of their larger communities. I believe that children are one of the most valuable members of our society and it is our job as adults to give them a sense of their value and appreciate what each individual child uniquely brings to the world.
