Hi! I guess I should describe myself most accurately as a Jane-of-all-trades. I've been babysitting on and off since I was about 12. I grew up the eldest of three in rural Connecticut on broadway musicals, sketchbooks, [reading] books and good food. I babysat for local weekenders for the most part; friends of my parents who had younger children. Once a whole slew of parents went to the same party and left me all their kids in one home for 3 hours. Things were just fine! I've had regular babysitting jobs too. My favorite thing to do while babysitting (and as it turns out theirs too) is to read stories aloud. One of my first "real" jobs was in the local public library re-shelving books and helping them transfer their entire collection to a digital system instead of the card catalogue. I went on to major in English and have Read more since then worked in three other libraries! I also enjoy making jewelry and since moving to the west coast I've made that my main focus, for the most part. Some other odd jobs I've had were on organic farms in Western Massachusetts and at a hostel in Eugene, Oregon.
