A little about me: I am a sophomore Broadcast Journalism student at Clark Honor's College at the University of Oregon. I speak fluent spanish and proficient Portuguese. I have a lot of experience caring for children but very little as a designated nanny. I would describe myself as jovial; I still prefer a day spent digging up bugs in the backyard to a day watching netflix. This upcoming summer I'd like to take a break from college courses, internships and instead work with families and children. I have a passion for caring for others, especially children and I'd love the opportunity to help a family in any way I can. I grew up babysitting my younger cousins and tutoring children a few grades behind me. I have cared for children of family-friends and have been volunteering in spanish-immersion kindergartens as a teacher's aide for almost five years. I enjoy teaching Read more children and helping them explore the world around them. I treat children with respect and talk to them as I would an adult counterpart because I remember what it felt like to be treated as a baby. Growing up, my parents worked long hours leaving my brother and I in day-care programs. It wasn't easy fighting with 50 other kids for attention from the care-providers. I know first hand the importance of quality child care for busy parents.
