I am a mother of three whose middle child is beginning Kindergarten this year. I have loved being a stay at home mom since my first was born in 2009, and can't believe it will be just my youngest (who is two) home with me this year! I would love to find a family with a young child or two who needs care during school hours, and who is comfortable with me bringing my child to their home or bringing their child(ren) to mine. I love to browse Pinterest in the evenings to prepare options for activities, so that I can present new opportunities for activities that involve learning. I'm not afraid of letting the kids get messy when learning and I make a strong effort to provide a language-rich environment, so that even just doing normal daily routines and activities can be opportunities to learn. I am a certified Read more Positive Discipline parent instructor who is active in the PD community, and always seeking more knowledge of brain development in children. My oldest child was diagnosed with autism and sensory processing disorder at three years old, so I have a lot of experience in early interventions like ABA therapy and Occupational Therapy. I am comfortable (and even drawn to) working with children who are strong-willed and/or neurodivergent, as well as neurotypical children. I have my Bachelor's Degree in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing and will be applying to OSU's MCOUN program once my youngest is in school. My career goal is to become a school counselor, where I hope to work with children who need a little extra help. Until then, I am enjoying these early years with my own children, and hope to be able to help another family who needs childcare by adding their child(ren) into the mix during the times that my older two are in school!
