I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University last spring with a degree in psychology, education, and a teachers license. Having moved to Portland I decided to reconnect with why I wanted to teach in the first place- the wonder in discovery, creativity, and playfulness found when working with children. I am licensed to work with children from pre-school through 5th grade but am comfortable working with children of all ages. Having a sister twelve years my junior has given me opportunity to become well aquatinted with each stage of development. In the summers I teach at an educational summer camp (OWjL) for middle schoolers. I am currently designing a course on philosophy in dystopian literature in addition to the harry potter and philosophy course that I've taught for the past two years with great joy. I currently have a weekday after school position which I am very happy with but would Read more love to look for opportunities outside of these hours- date nights, weekends, or mornings.
