I have worked in nanny positions with many different ages. I spent last year teaching English to all ages at a private school in Fukui, Japan. For the previous several years, I was a nanny with a wonderful family, who had a girl (7 months old at the start) and a boy (3 years at the start). I have quite a bit of recent experience with infants, starting as early as 2 months. In the past, I was a live-in family for a family with two young boys for a year. I worked as a paraprofessional in an elementary school and taught the lowest reading group and the highest math group. Since working at the day treatment center, I have approached parents with clearly laid out plans for dealing with discipline and learning and I have tried to be flexible, open, and communicative when navigating important care taker issues. I have worked with Read more families with challenging children, including a 5 year old on the autism spectrum. In addition to finding it intellectually challenging, I find it to be rewarding to have fun with and nurture children. I lots of fun going on hikes and doing crafts, reading, dancing, and playing board games. I especially love cooking and I am happy to help with cleaning, grocery shopping, and other domestic duties.
