Meet Grace

  • Comfortable with pets

I am a dedicated and experienced nanny committed to providing compassionate and mindful care for the children and families that I work with. I have worked as a full and part-time nanny, provided nanny shares, worked as a lead teacher in both in-home and daycare centers, and I have lots of experience with overnights and evening babysitting. It has been a joy to work with children of all ages, from infancy to teen years, and being connected to so many different families and communities throughout my work continues to be a huge blessing in my life. Through my years of experience and studies, I feel confident in my knowledge of child development, my intuitive abilities and my different dynamic skillsets in caring for children of all ages. I have lots of experience with the specific needs of infants and toddlers. One thing I love about caring for children is how Read more much fun there is to be had, and how much joy and wonder are available in the present moment with them. Even a cozy day just staying at home with a child can be a full on adventure that I cherish, reading books and being curious about the world together. I believe that children are very wise and I enjoy discovering more about life through their perspectives. Nurturing, nourishing, and caring for children is a valuable role and responsibility that I love to do. I am very grounded and I seek to ensure that everyone whom I care for has the space held for them to feel as safe and secure as possible. I feel that a calm and trusting environment and engaged care allows a child the room to grow, explore, express and enjoy themselves. I believe that a nanny plays an extremely valuable role in the life of a child and for the family as a whole. I communicate closely with parents about their children and I take care to follow through with their specific needs and requests. I am responsible, reliable, and proactive during downtime. The physical and emotional safety of the children in my care will always be my first priority. Parents can be assured that their child’s needs will always be met with absolute respect and loving care. I am looking forward to embracing a new family in Portland. I am seeking a part-time position. In addition to childcare, I work as an artist, dancer / dance instructor, as well as an urban farmer managing a small greenhouse and plot in NE Portland. I am looking forward to speaking with you if you are interested, and best of luck to you in your search for a childcare provider!
